The Cottage Inspiration

As mentioned before I will be moving in a few weeks and I am looking forward to living in a bigger place with great outdoor space, open plan living and a second bedroom where I will set up my office.  I have been busy making moodboards and pinning away searching for home inspiration. Below is some of the inspiration for my new home; The Cottage. Each room has elements which I love and the spaces have given me numerous decorating ideas. See some of my designer tips to incorporate from each room below.

The Cottage has a beautiful outdoor space with a lush garden and large breadfruit tree. Luckily for me there is a large covered porch where I have set up a second "living room". When decorating an outdoor space be mindful when choosing furniture or fabrics. Be sure to choose water resitant fabric such as Sunbrella and make sure your furniture will hold up to the weather.

Now that I have an office I am trying to keep the work out of the bedroom and keep it for sleeping, reading and relaxing. I love the comfort of this space and the reasonably neutral colour palette. Amp up the luxury in your bedroom by picking high thread count sheets, plush pillows and a luxurious throw.

This living area is a slightly more sophisticated version of what I envision. See more of my decor ideas and mood board for this space here

I am perhaps most excited about my office and new MAC Desktop computer, not to mention I scored a  Parsons table look alike second hand which I am thrilled about. I plan to sand it down and repaint in a white lacquer.  Stay tuned for the before and after post of this project .
