As I have mentioned before I have been trying recently to make a few changes to my diet and eat a bit healthier. In the last couple weeks of doing this food blogs have become my best friend. I love food and while I am determined to eat better I do not want to sacrifice on yumminess! Enter Foodie Crush, creator Heidi combines photography, her personal recipes and a curation of her favourite recipes from other food bloggers to create a wonderfully inspiring food resource. One of the recipes I am dying to try is the shrimp and scallop ceviche filled avocado. I love any seafood and ceviche is high on my list of favourite foods because it is so light and refreshing. Avocado is another favourite of mine so the thought of combining the two greatly appeals to me.The recipe and photos below are Heidi's own, be sure to visit her at Foodie Crush for even more foodspiration! Follow lovedesignbdos on Instagram to see my attempts at recreating this dish in the near future.

Quite often the best resource for inspiration is other design blogs, websites and magazines. House Beautiful has been one of my favourite design magazines from as long as I can remember. I started to collect anything home decor related when I was about twelve, way before online copies were available and blogs were created and House Beautiful magazine was always one of the publications on my list. Technology has made it so that I can have this inspiration on my Facebook, Twitter and Instagram feeds and when I see a thumbnail that speaks to me I automatically click the link, which I often share with you at times. Such is the case with this post. Outdoor living has always appealed to me and these rooms are extra special because they represent perfect indoor spaces except with natural light, lots of green and of course - they are outdoors.
This navy blue and white living space on an outdoor patio is super chic and combines outdoor elements along with mid century modern pieces. The stunning blue and white ginger jar display is a modern take on a ordinarily traditional grouping.

Even though I may not always admit it celebrity homes do hold some fascination with me. I'm not sure if it is the locations, decor, or just novelty that a celeb lives there but celebrity homes have a certain appeal. What I love about Scarlett Johansson's new Hamptons Home is that it does not scream pretentious as some other celebrity homes have been known to do. The beach side property spanning over 1.4 acres has four-bedrooms and four-and-one-half baths. The home features a spacious, loft-like floor plan with large windows and doors encouraging indoor-outdoor living.

I have a weakness for workspaces and the stylish offices of San Francisco's Grow Marketing are arguably the most crush worthy of offices I have ever seen. The office space resembles a luxury home with Parisian details and authentic charm, the front reception reminiscent of a sophisticated parlour in a private home. The creative marketing firm - Grow was founded in 2001 by Cassie Hughes and Gabrey Means. The two sought to create a work environment that reflected their stylish clients like Google, , and Gap, to name a few. The newly renovated building still maintains it's integrity by keeping the exposed brick and raw finishes but also has an element of feminine charm in some spaces and others that embrace the eclectic aesthetic of clients and employees a like. The office is filled with design inspiration and decorating ideas and I love how the spaces are both functional and have that cozy element. See the whole story and more pictures on Pop Sugar.

The Cannes International Film Festival, is an annual film festival held in Cannes, France, which previews new films of all genres, including documentaries, from around the world. The Film festival is full of red carpets, cocktail parties and events. When it comes to red-carpet glamour, few events compete with The Cannes Film Festival. The A-list guests arrive in abundance, the ball gowns are bigger and the jewels more lavish. The first red carpet look from the Cannes season that I fell in love with was Blake Lively wearing Gucci Premiere. It was this look that compelled me to head to one my most trusted fashion authorities: Vanity Fair. Below are a few of my favourite looks from the festival, some more glamorous than others but equally fabulous. See more of The Cannes Film Festival here and stay tuned for Beauty at Cannes coming soon to the blog!

Recently I have been especially grateful for the blog. Being able to write about what I love and share it with my fans is incredibly rewarding and I am incredibly blessed that I get to do something I truly love. Another perk is that for research I get to visit other blogs whether it be interiors, food or fashion blogs and keep up to date on the latest news. When I learnt about the Olsen twins opening their first store and then after seeing the images I was compelled to share. The Row's first boutique opened in Los Angeles this week. The store will sell the label's entire collection, as well as rare furniture pieces and Manolo Blahnik shoes. The brand's first flagship is a 3,800 square-foot store at 8440 Melrose Place that looks like the quintessential midcentury modern California pad, right down to the swimming pool in its glass courtyard.

It feels like the past couple weeks have been a blur of events, all of them different from the next. I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people, eating delicious food and getting to take pictures and write about my experiences. Last weekend Louis Vuitton hosted a mothers day celebration for their valued customers and showcased the new Spring/ Summer 2014 collection. Luckily for me this event corresponded with my super MAC Makeover by Kia so I felt incredibly confident with my look.
I love the new fresh colours including whites, yellows and pinks for their Spring/Summer 14 collection and refreshing lighter fabrics of the caftans and skirts.

Pieces from the new Alluring Aquatic collection alongside an "Island Bag"

Designer T. Keller Donovan worked magic with this Palm Beach one-bedroom apartment for his client, Kay Gilman. When I first saw this fresh space on House Beautiful I found it hard to believe that this was an apartment. The living room which is divided into two distinct seating areas is airy and flooded with natural light. The marriage of the colourful print, white contemporary furniture and vintage pieces seems effortless and pieces like the vintage breakfront adds character. Ordinarily I would disagree with such an abundance of a large scale print in such a colour but the Quadrille's Island Ikat fabric works in this space.

I have always had a weakness for office spaces and blogged about them here on many occasions. I have been looking for a new apartment or house for a while now which has a second bedroom which I can use primarily as a home office, (and maybe some shoe and handbag storage). I found one home in my current neighbourhood and have fallen in love but I am still trying to decide how plausible it is. Until then I decided I would rearrange my living room and position my desk in a place with better lighting and a view into my garden. These home offices below acted as my inspiration, while the styles are very different there is something to love in each of them. What is your preference in a home office and what are your must haves? Comment below, we would love to hear from you!
This dual work space incorporates a gallery wall, fresh blooms, memo board, storage and lots of natural light.

The latest issue of Living Barbados is out and in my opinion better than ever. The cover was a first, foregoing the usual photo of a property for a stunning model in a high fashion spread. Living Barbados is a lifestyle and property publication and as the name suggests it focuses on Barbados. I can always count on the magazine to include new and exciting properties, stunning interiors, interesting people and fabulous lifestyle spreads. Living invited me back this issue and I was thrilled to do a piece on Interior Designer - Stephanie Barnes and honoured to be included in their dynamic team. Living is definitely making strides not only in keeping the magazine fresh but also on the social media end of things which pleases me greatly. You can now find them on Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram as well as read the issue online.
It's hard to pick favourites when there is so much quality content but The Lonestar article by witty writer Rachel Ramphal and photographed by Mike Toy combines many of my loves - Interiors, Food and the beach! Entitled The Lone Star State of Mind the article takes you inside the newly renovated hotel and restaurant. See the whole story in the new issue of Living Barbados.

MAC has done it again with another stunning and innovative collection. This limited edition collection will launch mid May online, and this Friday at MAC in Limegrove and Cave Shepherd, Barbados in time for the Summer 2014 season. The MAC Alluring Aquatic Collection packaging gives a sense of coolness and the aquatic properties are evident with the colour and water droplets. Even though the packaging is bright blue, the colours of the products are on the softer nude side for the bronzers and blushes with rich eye shadow and lipstick colours such as darkened plum and tarnished olive giving the eyes extra dimension. The bronzer and blushes are seen in soft bronze tones, coppers and peaches. The eye shadows come in a spectrum of colours starting with nudes and ending with richer tone and the same can also be said for the lip gloss and lipstick. The nail polishes are in keeping with the same sea goddess theme but in more shimmery darker tones such as Neptune tarnished gold.
Thanks to MAC I was able to get my hands on a few of the new Alluring Aquatic products before they are out in stores and I have to say they are even more impressive and beautiful in person. The packaging is stunning and it looks like there are water droplets dancing on the shimmering turqouise. Stay tuned for a post including these and other MAC products as makeup artist Kia Foster Blades gives me a step by step tutorial on how to apply!

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of attending aN Mothers Day Celebration at Burberry at The Limegrove Lifestyle Center in Barbados. The event was a intimate cocktail party with refreshing cocktails such as pink grapefruit bellinis, delectable savoury bites, and sweet treats. The Burberry store is absolute perfection with stunning displays of their timeless pieces, the spaces divided into different sections make the store less intimidating and give it a warmer atmosphere.

Mother's day is fast approaching and if any of you are like me you probably have not yet gotten a gift. Archers Hall may often be overlooked as somewhere for gift items but every time I visit the store and design centre in Speightstown I am reminded of the beautiful and unique gift items they have. The gifts range from smaller items such as soaps and shower gels to stunning caftans and handbags not to mention classic home accessories such as vases and frames. Below are some of my Mothers Day Gift picks from Archers Hall. See the whole album on my Facebook page and by following Archers Hall on Facebook.
Soap sets and dishes beautifully packaged (Ideal for those like me who are hopeless at wrapping!) Seen here is the Reef soap and glass tray.

The time has come again for one of the most exclusive social events in New York and one of the biggest fundraising nights of the city. The Met Ball or Met Gala, is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. Anna Wintour, Vogue editor-in-chief and chair of the event since 1995, oversees both the benefit committee and the guest list. This year's Met Ball saw its many embracing old school elegance in the most romantic of dresses. New trends also emerged such as cropped tops which offered a hint of midriff and brought a bit of edginess to the event. Below are some of my favourite looks of the night, see more on PopSugar and Vogue.
Stella McCartney arrived flanked by an all-star group, all dressed in bespoke versions of her designs - Cara Delevingne, Rihanna and Kate Bosworth & Reese Witherspoon. Image
I ended my very busy Saturday at Always Summer in Limegrove Lifestyle Center for an early Mother's Day celebration with cupcakes and bubbly. Always Summer is one of my favourite stores to visit for unique and high quality pieces such as jewellry, clothing and shoes. The store itself is also a treat with refreshing window displays, stunning details, and friendly sales associates Lana and Janicho. The featured brand for the event was Julie Vos, her 24K gold plate semi-precious collection is now exclusively available at Always Summer, stay tuned on the blog to learn more about Julie Vos. Guests were treated to mini cupcakes baked by store founder, Sharon Oran and her daughter Arel. Sharon and Arel love working together and hosting special events for all of their clients. They also love collaborating with Sacha Cabral from Wine World who was on hand making sure the guests were fully hydrated with the newest Prosecco available - The Ruffino Prosecco. The event was the perfect way to end my day, what could be better than pretty clothes, stunning jewellry, trendy shoes, cupcakes, prosecco and bubbling conversation.

Pop Sugar is by far one of my favourite websites combining my love for interiors, fashion, beauty, celebrities along with many others. It is essentially everything I could ask for from my favourite blogs all in one place. I had the pleasure of meeting one of the writers, Angela Elias at Kravet's Blogfest in New York two years ago and since then have been following her posts along with my other Pop Sugar daily reads. The most recent post spoke directly to me as it was focused around coastal style. Pop Sugar shared their favorite shoreside homes which rely on earthy classics to capture that casual but chic beach-house aesthetic.
White Curtains, Jute rugs and wicker baskets are all versatile enough to work with any design style and transition throughout the seasons.

A few weeks back when I posted about celebrity kitchens I was reminded of Patrick Demsey and wife, Jillian's Malibu home which was featured on the pages of Architectural Digest a few months ago. When I first saw the property I fell in love with the charm and character, and unlike so many celebrity homes the residence actually looked lived in (due in part I'm sure to their three kids!) The house which was conceived by architect Frank Gehry in the late 1960s, the house has been updated with landscaping by Shrader Design and decor by Estee Stanley Interior Design. See the whole story from Architectural Digest here.
Patrick Dempsey and his wife, Jillian, are joined by their children, daughter Talula and sons Darby and Sullivan, and their French bulldog, Horton, in an outdoor dining area appointed with Teak Nichols Design furniture.
