Spring Makeup Trends from Fashion Week 2014

In an attempt to diversify LDB and include more of my loves you will notice a more evident beauty and fashion presence. I have focused a lot in the past weeks on Fashion especially since Mercedes Benz NYFW and Paris Fashion week had some especially exciting collections showing. Now that I have watched over the shows and gotten my hands on some of my favourite publications such as Glamour, Vogue and Elle I have had time to take a deeper look into the beauty element. Below see some of my favourite spring makeup trends from Fashion Week 2014 via Glamour.

Trend 1: Ethereal White Eyeshadow and Liner

The white eye makeup trend was spotted all over the place from Jenny Packham, Tibi, Alice + Olivia, and Altuzarra showed some of our favorite takes on the look. A wash of iridescent whites and pinks at Alice + Olivia (shown) gave lids a dewy freshness.

Trend 2: Gilded Lids

At Jason Wu's show, Lancôme makeup artists smudged Le Crayon Khol in Black Coffee into creases and lined the top lashes with Jason Wu for Lancôme Artliner in Noir. Then the lids were given a wash of brown eyeshadow and topped with actual loose gold glitter for a stunning metallic effect. Try a metallic pigment to pull this off, like MAC Pressed Pigment in Damson, $21.

Trend 3: Blue Eyeshadow

At Marc by Marc Jacobs, models wore a stunning statement lid in rich, solid blue from lash line to crease. At Badgley Mischka, powdery blue shades were layered to create a disco-like look.

Trend 4: Soft Berry Lips

Michael Kors gave lips a believable berry shade courtesy of Michael Kors Lip Lacquer in Dame. At Joie, artists kicked up the color with a brighter berry to perk up minimal makeup.

Trend 5: Bright Orange Lipstick

It seemed like orange was the lipstick shade of the season spotted at shows such as Nanette Lepore, Donna Karan, Prabal Gurung, Christian Siriano, Rag & Bone, and DKNY.
