MAC Spring Summer 2014 Trends & Collections

I am a longtime fan of MAC cosmetics and I have to admit I was a little jealous when Rachel from Living Barbados magazine got to sit down in Jamaica with MAC Director of makeup artistry, Mr Romero Jennings. I followed along intently via Living's Facebook page as Mr Jennings presented some of MAC's Spring/ Summer 2014 makeup trends. The trends were demonstrated on both Miss Jamaica Universe and Miss Jamaica World. I recently met up with Rachel and subsequently bombarded her with questions about the new trends and collections, one of mine being "Fantasy of Flowers".

What first caught my eye about the Fantasy of Flowers collection was their campaign. MAC collaborated with Stephen Sebring to bring the World's first four - dimensional campaign and the results were spectacular. Upon looking into the collection I fell further in love with the floral hues, pinks, corals, peaches, purples and roses grounded with earthier browns and lush greens. The collection has been described as " A dream world bursting with brilliant blooms of colour" and it truly is reminiscent of a magical garden early on a morning with light streaming through the foliage. The collection is fresh with lots of shimmery finishes, most of the shimmer coming from the Mineralize products including eye shadows, blushes and skin finishes.

A dream world bursting with brilliant blooms of colour. A stunning bouquet of shades draws you in with hypnotic movement as a magical fantasy emerges glowing with a floral essence. Rose-coloured hues burst from lustrous Lipstick, while a heavenly hybrid of Mineralize Eye Shadows blossoms with natural splendour. Cheeks are kissed with the graceful glow of Mineralize Blush, and vivid pops of colour flourish as Fluidline and Nail Lacquer bring this flowery fantasia to life. (text via MAC)

This collection has left me wanting more and my MAC wish list continues to grow. Lucky for me and many other MAC lovers we no longer have to wait until we travel overseas to stock up on MAC products, as we now have two in Barbados. Visit them at Cave Shepherd on Broadstreet or Limegrove Lifestyle Centre to see the collection and prepare to fall in love! See below some of my favourites from the collection and inevitably what the very talented and patient girls at MAC Limegrove will have to teach me to apply.

Stay tuned on the blog for more MAC Spring / Summer 2014 Trends and Collections.
