I love following other blogs whether it be interior design or fashion blogs but the truth is I don't get to do it as often as I used to. Over the weekend I took some time to catch up on my favourites and came across this cozy kitchen on Grey and Scout blog. The kitchen is designed by Jute Home in San Francisco. With backgrounds in art, antiques and architecture, Jute Home weaves unique furnishings and finishes into living spaces without fuss or clutter. At Jute they believe "home design is not about our style, its about the best version of yours"
Jute's portfolio could keep me busy for hours pouring over the unique and character filled interiors but upon seeing this specific space it was love at first sight. I know I throw the word around here a lot but I truly love everything about this space, ordinarily I can find something I would change or at least one flaw. This space is the exception, I love the combination of modern elements such as the cabinets, hardware and fixtures paired with the kitchen table and mix matched seating as opposed to an island. See more of this kitchen after the jump and Jute's portfolio here.
There are too many elements in this kitchen to mention all but some of my favourites are the herringbone wood floor, the modern slate blue cabinets paired with the warm woods, mix of lighting - those pendants are fab, and last but not least the cozy sitting area off the kitchen, perfect for morning coffee or afternoon cup of tea with a good book.
Spaces like this always inspire me and often can be good jumping off points for home decor or interior design ideas. Another great resource other than interior design blogs is interior design magazines, though online magazines are becoming more common I still love me a hard copy that I can dog ear the pages or rip out the pages for my inspiration board. What's your preference and what are some of your favourite publications?
