Property Pick: Windward

My interest on this property was first piqued when it was featured in the most current issue of Living Barbados. Windward is a luxury two- story Sandy Lane Barbados holiday villa which sleeps 10 people. This five bedroom, six and a half bathroom vacation home is situated in the prestigious neighbourhood of Cooper Hill on the West coast of the island. The property is fully enclosed with a private swimming pool and within the grounds there is a separate building housing a fully equipped gym, garage and storeroom. The bedrooms are all air conditioned and the ensuite bathrooms feature marble finishes, double vanities and rain showers.

Nursery Chic

It seems to me that everywhere you look people are getting married or having babies and my Grand mother makes it a point to remind me almost every time I see her of exactly that. I have to admit that while I am no where close to either of these things I cannot resist the charm of a newborn baby, the cuteness of itsy bitsy baby clothes, teddy bears and swoon worthy nurseries. I personally am drawn to more contemporary and gender neutral spaces which are both functional and transitional accented with "cutesy" baby bits and bobs.

Radiant Orchid Makeup Trends

Pantone, the authority on color, announced early in December 2013 that the shade of 2014 is Radiant Orchid, referring to it as “an enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple, and pink undertones. When it came to interiors, it took me a while to warm up to the Pantone colour of the year for 2014. Beauty however, was another story, this 2014 makeup trend had since won me over. We had already started to see the colour in different capacities on celebrities such as Scarlett Johansson, Emma Rossum and Lupita Nyong'o and I found it a refreshing change. It turns out that the color is super wearable, whether it be as nail polish, eye shadow or lipstick. Not only that but, Radiant Orchid has also proven to be quite a versatile colour, looking good on a variety of different skin tones.

Erin Fetherston Barbados wedding.

Fashion designer Erin Fetherston and rock star Gabe Saporta wed in Barbados in 2013. The couple met at a red-carpet fashion gala in 2010 and were engaged in Barbados a year and a half later. When they imagined their wedding Erin and Gabe pictured a romantic, old-world setting. They created just that at the historic St. Nicholas Abbey with the woods of Barbados as a backdrop. To learn more about their wedding visit Martha Stewart Online or Erin's website.

Ivy and grapevines cascaded down the walls of the reception tent. Ranunculus, sahara and majolica spray roses, tulips, lisianthus, carnations, eucalyptus, jasmine, and peonies made up the centerpieces.

The store in Speightstown stocks very unique and beautiful pieces of furniture, occasional and functional, indoor and outdoor. Archers Hall also carries a high quality and affordable selection of gift items, florals, lamps, artwork, picture frames, vases, dining table accessories and candles.

Runway to Room : Fashions Interior Equivalent

My love for interiors also extends to fashion and all things design oriented thus the name of the blog. Runway to Room is my newest feature and one of the most fun. I love searching for interiors to match outfits that I love or vice versa. I hope you enjoy this Runway to Room series and stay tuned on the blog for more fashion.

When I originally saw the first outfit below I loved the clean lines, gold accents and overall simplicity and elegance of the outfit. While the bathroom has the same linear qualities and gold accents there is a more obvious glam factor.  After the jump see more interiors and outfits which look like they were made for each other.

Fresh Blue, White and Gold Kitchen by Sarah Richardson

I have to admit 2014 was off to a bit of a slow start for me and LDB. I was sick for the first week or so and stuck in a rut. I've finally gotten back to myself and am super excited to be back to the blog. I saw this kitchen a couple days ago and fell in love with the colour, print, hardware and overall aesthetic. After searching for more images I learnt that this fresh and beautiful kitchen is designed by the talented Sarah Richardson who I have blogged about here before. See more of the blue, white and brass goodness after the jump by clicking read more.

Fashion : Street Style

I love following fashion blogs, I especially love looking at Street Style on two of my favourite sites, Who What Wear and Vogue. These outfits below combine a few classics - black dress pants, white oxford shirt, denim and stripes. Dress them up or down with shoes, bags and accessories and for the more adventurous throw some red in there.
My person favourite is the combination of the black formal pants and white oxford shirt paired with a casual denim jacket and leopard print pointed toe stilettos ( seen above ).
