Casa Blanca. Bahamas

I have to admit I have had a growing appreciation for both local and regional publications recently and Real Life has become one of my favourite reads. Real Life is a Caribbean Luxury Lifestyle, Property and Design magazine and the source for the magnificent home below. Casa Blanca in the Bahamas is a blend of casual coastal elements and an understated elegance and sophistication. The foyer is a good representation of what you can expect in the home as it showcases the different design styles. Traditional pieces like the tufted sofa mixed with  contemporary elements such as the panelling and hardware and more rustic pieces such as the Buddha all come together to form a cohesive and welcoming entry.

The homes palette is made up of mostly neutrals with muted accents of blue which keeps the rooms feeling bright and open. The natural light streaming in from the outside through the glass sliding doors illuminates the space even more in the day.

The kitchen is both functional and fabulous. The marble backsplash is stunning and adds interest, the lighting is not only functional but those pendants over the island add interest and a bit of shine to the room.

The dining room is another perfect example of the seamless integration of coastal, rustic and more contemporary. I'm loving the upholstered chairs which are tufted and have nail head detail, the traditional chandelier and ofcourse the shell mirror.
