Pizza Night

Pizza is one of my guilty pleasures and I especially love gourmet pizza's with less traditional toppings. Even though we have some great pizza spots, two of my favourite are Mama Mia's Italian deli & Pizzeria and Gian Luca's cafe at Timothy Oulton I have been trying to cook more at home and get a little adventurous. Recipes.com and Martha Stewart online have been great for inspiration and the easy to follow recipes make things even better! Below are three of my pizza picks via Martha Stewart online.

Casa Blanca. Bahamas

I have to admit I have had a growing appreciation for both local and regional publications recently and Real Life has become one of my favourite reads. Real Life is a Caribbean Luxury Lifestyle, Property and Design magazine and the source for the magnificent home below. Casa Blanca in the Bahamas is a blend of casual coastal elements and an understated elegance and sophistication. The foyer is a good representation of what you can expect in the home as it showcases the different design styles. Traditional pieces like the tufted sofa mixed with  contemporary elements such as the panelling and hardware and more rustic pieces such as the Buddha all come together to form a cohesive and welcoming entry.

Nautical Chic : Interiors & Fashion

I have always loved the combination of navy blue and white interiors especially those that incorporate stripes and have a nautical flair without being too literal and I definitely am drawn to nautical inspired outfits as you can see below in my shop the look feature. This space is iconic to me as it is featured on the cover of Elle Decor Style and Substance and always comes to mind when I envision casual nautical chic.

St. Barts Paradise

One of architect Charles Gwathmy's final projects was on the island of St Barts. The property is made up of a collection of separate pavilions on two different levels. He maintained simplicity by limiting building materials and sparely furnished with custom-made seating upholstered in white canvas and large picture windows bring the outside in and afford you with sweeping views of the island.

Eco Friendly & Energy Efficient : Led Lighting

LDB is all about being eco friendly as well as energy efficient so we were very excited to work with CS LED Inc. Energy efficiency does not only mean that your light bill will be reduced at the end of the month but it also reduces carbon dioxide emissions. Recognizably we may not all be able to entirely re work our homes or offices all at once but we can make small steps, the easiest and most cost effective way to start saving energy is to use led bulbs as replacement bulbs for lighting in the home.

Rustic Simplicity

My personal aesthetic is "beach house chic" and I am always attracted to cozy coastal spaces but I have a huge appreciation for spaces which are both rustic and simple yet still have clean lines, such as this one.

Island Inspired : Sea Glass

LDB is all about being inspired and as I've mentioned before I draw my inspiration from many different things. The last week has been hectic but I did have time to stop into Walkers World yesterday to swoon over some of their new arrivals and I spotted a fabulous glass based lamp which served as inspiration for this post. The lamp reminded me of many "sea glass" lamps I've been seeing used in coastal inspired spaces and sent me on the hunt for more sea glass inspired decor ideas.

Food, Fashion, Beauty & INTERIORS.

In an attempt to diversify LDB I've been slowly introducing some of my other loves to the blog such as fashion and beauty. Today I've brought them all together and included another love - food! Below is how I picture a pretty perfect sunny day.

Walkers World Barbados

If you follow LDB on Facebook or Twitter you may have noticed that I've been talking about some new and exciting collaborations. Walkers World is one of my favourite home decor stores in Barbados and I am thrilled to be working with them ( See their button on the right sidebar ). Recently the Walkers World stores have had a bit of a revamp and while the stores still have their character they are more streamlined and contemporary. The same can be said for their stock, I love the mix of more contemporary furniture with their more rustic and authentic pieces.

Walker’s World philosophy, is simple supremely chic designs, stylishly unique collections, top quality products, available to everyone at excellent value!

Beauty Bar

While LDB is primarily focused on interior design every so often I like to mix things up again and incorporate fashion, beauty and even food. I came across this bathroom during one of my Pinterest sessions and fell in love. Everything about it is perfect, the two types of marble, incredible lucite chair and that stunning window allowing in lots of natural light for makeup application.
