While looking through the amazing and latest issue of High Gloss magazine I came across some beautiful rooms by Amber Interiors so naturally I went on the hunt for more information. Amber Interiors is a full service residential design firm who also offer an E Design service and have their own blog. Amber of Amber Interiors along with being incredibly talented also has lots of attitude and sass I love following her along on instagram and via her blog. Her interior design projects continue to impress me and her witty dialogue keeps me interested every time I log on.
I cant believe that more design bloggers have not blogged about this because to me it is BIG news. Deborah Needleman, one of the authors of Domino: The Book of Decorating is writing her own book: The Perfectly Imperfect Home which is described as "how to decorate and live well". I am super excited and have already pre ordered my copy from Amazon where it is due to be release November 1st.

I often blog about bringing the outside in but now that it’s summer why not take it outside. The sun is shining, flowers are blooming and the weather is great - I cant think of better reasons to be outside. Whether it is garden parties, lounging by the pool or relaxing on the terrace - take it outside!

I know that I say “I love” A LOT but it’s only because I honestly love nearly everything about the spaces that I feature. One thing I am lusting after at the moment is a reading nook. I have my office where I work and my bedroom where I sleep but wish I had a little space where I could cuddle up with a plush throw and a good book (I’m currently reading “The Help” ) while searching for ideas I came across a few. Enjoy and lots of love***

So it appears that I am writing about grasscloth wallpaper AGAIN but I just cant get enough of it. I absolutely LOVE the texture and interest it gives to a wall. I especially love this space by Waterleaf Interiors as it combines some of my favourite things - grasscloth wallpaper, coral prints and that beautiful chippendale style chair.

We have all seen Mary Mcdonald's iconic Tiffany box blue inspired office, whether it be on the pages of Domino or on countless blogs. So I was shocked when I was watching Million Dollar Decorators ( my new obsession ) to see that she has changed it. I am still undecided as to which I prefer but wanted to know what YOU think. Old or new? Tiffany blue or Red and white? Cant wait to hear what you have to say!

As I’ve said before I often look around me for inspiration and being in Barbados there are a lot of tropical elements to be influenced by. Recently when cutting palm leaves from the garden to put in an oversized vase in my office I was reminded of this room featured on Coastal Living a while back and thought to myself that I must use something palm tree inspired in a next job. I then opened the pages of one of Living Etc and they obviously had a similar idea because staring at me were beautiful palm leaf inspired accessories. (Some seen below )

I have had this room stored in my database for a while now and every time I take a look at it I fear that I will overuse the word "amazing". Stunning, perfectly executed, breathtaking are a few alternate words that come to mind! I am loving the stark white sofas with contrasting black piping and that feature espresso wall just jumps out at you! This room is how I interpret tropical living should be done. This living room is the perfect combination of contemporary and tropical. I am more partial to dark woods and white whites when decorating a tropical space with a few natural elements such as the elephant palm just for a splash of colour. For more tropical inspired interiors take a look at this post.

From pillows to curtains EVEN on the floor the chevron pattern is popping up everywhere and I'm LOVING it. Around for quite a while now it has proven that it is not just a passing trend and that it has a place in any room, ideal for adding interest and often a pop of colour.
I recently did a post about bring the outside in here but when I saw this room on Momoy I couldn't help but feature it. The over sized plants are a very literal way to bring the outside and I'm loving it! The massive windows that flood the room with natural light also bring the outside in and make the room seem larger than it is. Love Design***

This post is a little different from what I usually do as I mainly focus on design but I wanted to share a few of my favourite things.
My Macbook Pro - I think I have used it EVERY day since I got it last year.
My Longchamp laptop case ( I have it in red but I'm loving this colour! )
Cappucinos - Especially from Gian Luca's cafe at Timothy Oulton!
Scented candles - Especially Voluspa Crisp Champagne
My go to shoe - I wore them nearly every day in Europe!
Domino: The Book of Decorating - Best decorating book EVER!
What are a few of your favourite things ?
The entryway or more formally known - the foyer is one of the most important spaces in a home. It is the first thing people see when they enter the house and sets the tone for what's to come. This foyer is described as "Happy Graphic" in Domino the book and I couldn't think of a better description. The graphic cut out screen creates a separate entry where there wasn't one and still keeps it open to the rest of the house. The console table on the right proves to be a functional and fashionable piece of foyer furniture housing a lamp, books and some decorative vases. Another functional piece of foyer furniture is an entryway bench which is the perfect place to take off shoes. A few other elements I love are the contrast between the white walls and ebony floors as well as the fun pops of colour in the accessories but my favourite element is the honeycomb mirror which creates a sight line and brings you into the house.

One of my favourite stores - Zara has recently launched a Home collection and I am elated! The Spring / Summer bedding collection has me especially impressed. I am loving the bright colours, patterns and textures of their bedding, cushions and throws. A few of my favourites...
Every day next week I will be doing free mood boards for the first five people to email me! email@example.com. Cant wait to hear from you! Lots of Love***

Mary Mcdonald is one of todays most distinguished and sought after designers. She flawlessly combines elegant and modern elements in her designs and her execution is perfection. In October of 2010 she launched her book - Mary Mcdonald Interiors: Allure of Style which covers the wide range of Mcdonald's design philosophy. Quoted from her site Mcdonald's book is a" must have for anyone who loves sophisticated, ravishing interiors" and it is definitely on my wish list! She is also on my new favourite show - Million Dollar Decorators! Below are a few of her diverse and AMAZING rooms. Enjoy!

As I've blogged about before here there has been an influx of online magazines in the last couple years and one of my favourites is Matchbook. Described as a " field guide to a charmed life" Matchbook talks about fashion, beauty, lifestyle and living and is incredibly diverse source. Some of my favourite features are the "fifty classics" seen below:

When I saw this kitchen on one of my favourite blogs – La Dolce Vita I instantly fell in love! Pair this with the stunning dining room featured in High Gloss magazine and you have my dream kitchen and dining room! I usually am drawn to the details first and then appreciate the overall aesthetic but this time it was everything all at once! I especially love the classic white marble countertops, and stainless steel in the kitchen and the Chippendale style chairs and Greek key style mirror in the dining area.

Bright yellow stripes, simple yet striking lamps, stunning accessories and attention to detail make this room absolute perfection in my eyes. Love Design***

I have to admit I'm a *little* obsessed with "Million Dollar Decorators" and watched one episode after the other last night. Apart from being a bit tired I am feeling very inspired and have accomplished so much already today. Enough so that I had time to browse through the portfolio's of the amazing decorators on the show - Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Mary Macdonald, Nathan Turner, Jeffrey Alan Marks and Kathryn Ireland. There is so much to look at and it can all be seen on their websites but here are a few of my favourite spaces.
